Kristen Stewart And Robert Pattinson: Out And Proud But Not At All Loud
The Cannes Film Festival has undoubtedly seen plenty of premieres. But tonight, the cast of On The Road rocked the red carpet within an inch of its life – and then some.
Starting in order of va va voom, Kristen Stewart pulled out all the stops in a Balenciaga freakum dress. Teal and silver detail etched into pink satin, and a thigh split on one side added to the ‘oriental’ feel of her look.
With a daring neck line upping the drama, Stewart completed her sexy yet elegant look with a drop necklace, black and silver heels and tousled, waved hair.
Next, Kirsten Dunst. No stranger to the red carpet, the Melancholia actress went old school in a fuschia, Christian Dior sheath. Starkly contrasting against her blond Marilyn-esque hair, Miss Dunst wore it well.
Not to be outdone, director Walter Salles, Garrett Hedlund, Sam Riley,Viggo Mortensen and Danny Morgan stayed on point with smart suits and styled hair. All except Tom Sturridge that is.
But hey, that’s beat for you.
But even before the cast strutted their stuff, the thronging press were already hyperventillating. But pourquoi?
None other than Robert Pattinson, that’s why. Looking sharp but ultra relaxed, it was clear he was there to support his girlfriend and best friend Tom Sturridge on their big night.
Keeping things brief, the Brit did get nabbed for a quick red carpet interview. Admitting he’d already seen On The Road, the actor said he was “happy to see it again” before joking that he “wanted a practice run” before Friday’s [Cosmopolis] premiere.
After red carpet duties were over, everyone made their way into the palais des festivals where they were greeted with a standing ovation.
It’s taken 55 years for Jack Kerouc’s seminal, ode to freedom to translate from publication to the big screen. But tonight, with a bank of strong reviews and a dazzling premiere to mark the event, Walter Salles and the cast of On The Road made sure it was worth the wait.
The croisette never looked so good.
