Jillian Michaels Welcomes Baby Boy, Adopts Baby Girl Two Weeks Later
Jillian Michaels is quite possibly have the best week of her life after she welcomed a baby boy into the world and by happenstance also welcomed her adopted 2-year-old daughter.
Michaels’ partner Heidi Rhoades delivered a healthy baby boy around the same time that the could received news that their adoption had been finalized.
31-year-old Rhoades gave birth to son Phoenix on May 3 in a Los Angeles hospital and then two weeks later the couple’s Haitian-born daughter Lukensia was sent to her knew home, a process that took two-years to complete.
Talking to PEOPLE Michaels proclaimed:
“We’re swimming in babies over here.”
The fitness guru says she couldn’t be any happier and is focusing all of her energy on the babies.
“I don’t even answer email. I don’t have time to care about anything else,” says Michaels, “I want to be really present and enjoy all the nuances of their growth and development. I don’t want to rush any of it.”
It was nearly one year ago that Jillian Michaels announced her plans to adopt a baby and now she has two children with Rhoades. Perhaps it was a smart move leaving The Biggest Loser when she did because raising one child is tiring enough but raising two children while working around the clock just wouldn’t have been a fun experience.
It has been a very busy year for Jillian Michaels who announced in 2011 that she was bisexual after nearly 3 years of secretly dating Rhoades.
Speaking to PEOPLE about motherhood Michaels’ says:
‘Seeing my two kids together is a magical feeling. Motherhood changes your DNA. My kids are now an integral part of who I am.’
