Dog The Bounty Hunter Cancelled By A&E

The final episodes of “Dog The Bounty Hunter” will air this Summer. A&E has decided not to order additional episodes of the long running show about Duane Chapman and his family of bondsman.

Variety reports that “Dog The Bounty Hunter” was on air for 8 seasons and more than 240 episodes.

Duane “Dog” Chapman first popped up on A&E during an episode of “Take This Job,” a series that profiled people with unusual jobs. The following year Chapman and his family landed their own series on A&E.

“Dog The Bounty Hunter” was one of the first reality show hits for A&E and helped to usher in a new era of programming at the station which was, at the time, best known for artsy programs like “Biography.” Since Chapman and his family graced the small screen, A&E has added shows like “Swamp People,” “Gene Simmons Family Jewels,” and “Duck Dynasty.”

A&E has not released an official statement about the show yet but it looks like the last new episodes of “Dog the Bounty Hunter” will air this Summer. The next new episode will air on June 2nd.
