Robert Pattinson Skips The Venice Film Festival To Avoid His ‘Twilight’ Star Ex Kristen Stewart

Those who may have been expecting to see Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson meet up at the recent Venice Film Festival were left disappointed. Although Stewart managed to making a showing during the event, her former Twilight co-star was not in attendance.

Pattinson was expected to be at the event because his upcoming movie, The Childhood of a Leader, was screened on Saturday and Sunday. Although his motive for missing the festival may have been to avoid seeing Stewart, his official reason is because he is tied up with the production of The Lost City of Z.

However, according Page Six, the Twilight star had never planned on going to the celebrated event.

“He didn’t want the story to be all about how he and Kristen were nearly bumping into each other,” an inside source close to Pattinson revealed. “Venice is very small…and there are only so many parties and hotels.”

For her part, Stewart was at the event for the screening of her newest movie, Equals, which also stars Nicholas Hoult.

Meanwhile, with Pattinson currently in Northern Ireland for the filming of The Lost City of Z, the Hollywood heartthrob is also getting ready for an upcoming wedding with British singer FKA Twigs. That being said, is there trouble on the horizon for the couple?

Recent rumors have indicated that a delay in their wedding plans is an indication that Pattinson and Twigs are having some issues with their relationship. Although Pattinson’s busy schedule doesn’t allow for much quality time to be spent between the two, an insider revealed that all is well.

According to E! News, the couple’s wedding plans have been delayed because of their busy schedule and not because of relationship woes.

“They haven’t drifted apart [despite claims], but they haven’t spoken as much lately because of his filming schedule,” the source revealed. “He is in Belfast and she is currently in the United States.”

The insider added that Pattinson and Twigs are in no hurry to get hitched.

“There most likely won’t be a wedding this year, but that has been the expectation for months. There isn’t a rush to get married. Fall plans turned into winter plans and now there are no specific plans, but they still plan on getting married.”

At least for now, it appears that the couple’s relationship is still going strong.

“There is a special connection between the two of them. Music is a big part of the relationship, because it means so much to them,” the source continued. “They clicked instantly and they literally have been inseparable.”

Robert Pattinson is currently in Belfast filming The Lost City of Z with Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam.
