Katy Perry and Florence + the Machine’s Robert Ackroyd are no longer an item after less than one month of dating.
A source at E! News on Monday revealed that the 27-year-0ld singer broke up with Ackroyd and that the couple wasn’t “that serious” to being with, leaving the relationship on good terms with one another.
The source tells the celebrity gossip site:
“She is remaining friends with Rob, but they were never serious to begin with, and she had doubts about it from the start. There are no hard feelings, they are both just very busy and had no expectations.
They continue:
“Rob is a good guy, but she just wants to focus on her work.”
A second source confirmed to Us Weekly :
“It’s not a nasty thing and they are still talking, but Katy told him to do his thing and they’ll talk soon.”
Perry and Ackroyd met at the Coachella music festival and Katy Perry referred to the guitarist as her “boyfriend.” Before her “relationship” with Robert she was linked to French model Baptiste Giabiconi.
We should have guessed the Perry/Ackroyd split had occurred after the songstress showed up at teh Billboard Music Awards with her 91-year-old grandma in tow. That date led Katy Perry to tweet:
“My date to tonight’s Billboard Music Awards is hotter than the Las Vegas weather. Smokin’!”
Katy Perry and British comedian Russell Brand called it quits last year after less than one year of marriage.
