‘Anchorman 2’ Teaser Promises To Deliver A ‘Fun Movie’ [Video]
The first teaser for the new Ron Burgundy movie doesn’t divulge too many plot points, but come on, it’s Anchorman, the plot isn’t all that important.
Instead, Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner, step onto the stage dressed as the Channel four news team (Anchorman Ron Burgundy; sports reporter Champ King; field reporter Brian Fontana; and weatherman Brick Tamland) and make a few promises to their potential audience.
Koechner assures Anchorman fans that the movie will have “sub machine guns and boobies.” Rudd promises that the movie will get “stinky” and Carell tells the world that he’ll be playing a witch in the new movie.
But perhaps the only serious promise comes from Burgundy himself, who says: “Look, it’s going to be a fun movie.”
Screenrant reports that Anchorman: The Legend Continues doesn’t have a finished script yet but co-writer/director Adam McKay said that the new movie would deal with the news world in 1978 / 1979 when the 24-hour news cycle began.
McKay said:
“It’s right when all the news started changing with the 24-hours news cycle in ’78 or ’79. All of a sudden, local news stations diversified and had Latino anchors and African-American anchors, and any time you’re talking about diversity and the Action News team, that’s always fun to deal with.”
Here’s the teaser for Anchorman 2.
