Taylor Swift Skyrockets To No. 1 For Instagram Fanbase
Taylor Swift is now the No.1 most followed celebrity on Instagram with a fanbase of 4.5 million people, overtaking Kim Kardashian to capture the lead spot. And Taylor Swift did this without sex tapes, nude photos, and incessant selfies – Eat your heart out, Kim.
Yesterday, Taylor uploaded a picture of her cat. That Instagram post already has 1.9 million likes and over 25,000 comments.
Unlike many other celebrities, Taylor seems to have no detractors. She’s completely adored. One fan spent over eight months knitting a special sweater for her that incorporated a Polaroid snapshot from her early career. Taylor loved the gift and thanked her fan on Instagram.
It’s not just the squeaky clean image and the lithe figure that sets the blue-eyed blonde at the top of the game. What sets Taylor Swift apart is pure talent. Swift made her first demo in Nashville at age 11. At 12-years-old, she wrote her first song. At 14, she signed her first recording contract with RCA Records. And the rest, as it is said, is history.
Swift became the teenage idol that every parent appreciated. She finished high school as a straight-A student. She loved her supportive parents and had a scandal-free family life. She bypassed the drug culture that traps so many young artists and devoted herself to writing music and performing. She took charge of her own publicity by connecting directly with fans on social media at a time when few performers used the Internet for promotion.
Making the right choices early on launched her career to stardom when her first album was released at the ripe-old-age of 16. The album, Taylor Swift, featured many of her original songs. At 25-years-old, she has sold over 40 million albums and her bio reads like the success story of someone much older.
