Hillary Clinton ‘Commitment Pledge’: Democratic Frontrunner Allegedly Had Millennials Sign Pledge To Attend Event
Hillary Clinton is now facing accusations that she required millennials to sign a “commitment pledge” as a prerequisite for being allowed to attend a campaign event.
A Pittsburgh reporter initially tweeted a picture of the pledge with the message, “Hillary has Millennials sign commitment pledge in order to attend #cleveland event,” along with a link to an article from Real Clear Politics.
The RCP article, written by the same reporter, Salena Zito, charged that the former First Lady, U.S. Senator, and Secretary of State, was having difficulty connecting with younger voters.

“The event here wasn’t just a failure to connect with millennials,” Zito wrote, “but a fundamental inability to read her audience and adjust her speech — or perhaps laziness, or a sense of entitlement that she shouldn’t have to work this hard for support.”
Zito also quoted students at the rally who admitted that they were leaning toward Bernie Sanders, the openly socialist independent, who has been giving Hillary Clinton fits in the polls.
Sanders even recently overtook the Democratic frontrunner in New Hampshire and has shown gains in other areas as well.
As for the commitment pledge being a requirement of attending the rally, Clinton’s staff has since responded to the claim, stating they are “aware” of the pledge, but that it was not mandatory. Spokesman Jesse Ferguson had this to say in comments reported by the Daily Mail.
“Like other candidates, we offer people a chance to commit to vote but it is not a restriction to attend. Most events are 50/50 between supporters and people interested in learning more about the candidates.”
Even if that’s true, however, Zito contends that it isn’t helping Hillary’s chances, and past missteps with younger voters could be an indication she’s correct. This tweet was just one of the recent embarrassments for Clinton.
