Neil Patrick Harris And David Burtka Celebrate One Year Anniversary
Neil Patrick Harris and husband David Burtka have reached the one year milestone of their marriage and to announce the celebratory event, Harris took to Instagram, where he posted the perfect picture of he and Burtka enjoying a laugh together.
As ET shares, The How I Met Your Motherstar captioned the picture with heartfelt words, capturing his feelings about the momentous occasion perfectly.
“One year ago today I had the pleasure of marrying David Burtka. I am so happy that I did — he’s a truly wonderful man. Here’s to many more laughs and adventures…!”
As the entertainment site reminds, Harris and Burtka, an actor and a notable chef, were together for nearly 10 years before making it official in 2014 during a ceremony in Italy. Once married, the relatively secretive event was made public when Harris took to Twitter to share their big news.
“Guess what? David Burtka and I got married over the weekend. In Italy. Yup, we put the ‘n’ and ‘d’ in ‘husband.’ ”
The two are also parents to 4-year-old fraternal twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace, “who were born via surrogate in 2010.” Aside from caring for their adorable kids, both Burtka and Harris keep busy in their respective careers. As People notes, Neil is “currently gearing up to star in the new show Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris, which premieres Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.”
Harris chatted with the publication back in March in regards to what drew him to being a part of the show set to premiere. People notes that the show is like nothing that has aired before and describes the sure-to-be-hit.
“The live, one-hour show – featuring stunts, mini game shows and hidden-camera shenanigans involving NPH’s celebrity pals.”
Victims of the shenanigans will include Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Jane Krakowski, Cobie Smulders and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Neil Patrick Harris, himself describes the new show as “a party.” It definitely sounds like it’s a bash not to be missed with that promise.
The Broadway veteran noted the main reason he decided to be a part of such an original project.
“I was drawn to this show because it’s a game-changer. People need a reason to watch TV when the show is actually happening.”
From adorable Instagram pics to seeing him get goofy back on prime time, Neil Patrick Harris has got a fan base that is ready for what he’s got in store and it’s certainly wonderful to see that he and Burtka are still so in love after 11 years together.
