Robert Pattinson, Brad Pitt, And Charlie Hunnam Spotted Filming ‘The Lost City of Z’ In Northern Ireland
Brad Pitt’s upcoming film, The Lost City of Z, has officially started production in Northern Ireland. With filming up and running, fans have spotted their share of Pitt, Robert Pattinson, and Charlie Hunnam out and about in Belfast and Ballintoy.
The Lost City of Z is based off a novel of the same name by David Grann and centers on the story of a British explorer named Colonel Percy Fawcett. Fawcett mysteriously disappeared in the 1920s after searching for the famed lost city in the Amazon.
The movie is being produced by Pitt, with Hunnam playing the role of Colonel Fawcett. According to UTV, Pattinson is set to play the role of Fawcett’s close friend and associate, Henry Costin.
With Hunnam and Pattinson starring alongside each other in the adventure film, the two stars have been spotted together on the streets of Belfast. In fact, according to Movie News Guide, the Sons of Anarchy star and Twilight alum stopped to pose with several fans, who took to social media to post their encounters.
In addition to Hunnam and Pattinson, The Lost City of Z also stars Sienna Miller and Tom Holland, who is known for his role as Spider-Man. For their parts, Miller will be playing Colonel Fawcett’s wife, Nina, while Holland will portray the youngest son of Fawcett, named Jack.
Meanwhile, both Charlie Hunnam and Robert Pattinson were also recently spotted in the Northern Ireland city of Ballintoy, which is being used to film some of the period scenes in the movie. Ballintoy has been featured in a number of different projects over the years, including the popular TV series Game of Thrones.
According to Irish Central, the cast and crew has enjoyed their time spent filming in Ireland, even though weather has been an issue.
“The filming has been a huge success in Ireland although the weather has been a slight challenge, especially with some of the costumes… Wet wool doesn’t give off the best aroma, but the actors have just carried on. They’re real pros and they get on with it without complaint. No one expects brilliant weather when filming in Ireland, but there were times the rains gods really took the biscuit.”
With filming expected to continue in Ireland through the middle of September, fans will have plenty of opportunities to spot the stars during downtime. After that, the crew is scheduled to move on to Colombia.
