Kristen Wiig Says Goodbye To ‘SNL’ [Video]
For the last few months rumors have been circulating about the cast of “Saturday Night Live.” Would Jason Sudeikis call it quits? Would Seth Meyers leave the show? What about Kristen Wiig? Last night, Mick Jagger, Lorne Michaels, and the rest of the SNL cast said goodbye to Kristen Wiig.
There could be a few more cast changes over the next couple of months but Wiig has already made her decision.
The cast said goodbye to Wiig last night during a graduation sketch featuring the Rolling Stones frontman.
“Well another year has come and gone and I just want to say how proud I am of this graduating class. I’d like to take a moment to say goodbye to one particular student who is leaving this summer. Kristen, you’ve meant quite a lot to us these seven years so our music department got together and prepared a song to say goodbye. This one’s for you.”
The cast then sang “Goodbye Ruby Tuesday” as individual members took turns having one last dance with Wiig.
Here’s a video of Kristen Wiig’s last dance on SNL.
Last month, Wiig said that she was thinking about exiting show. Wiig said:
“This is my seventh year and that’s my family. It’s my heart. It’s New York to me…I will say that when I do leave it’s not because I’m sick of it and not because I see something better or anything like that. It’s just that it’s time. When I do leave, it will be the hardest thing… You’re there for a week and on Saturday night you’re sad because you leave these people. You have to leave things that you love.”
