Fear The Walking Dead , Episode 3 will not be airing tonight because of the holiday weekend. Zombie lovers everywhere will have to wait until September 13 for the next episode of AMC’s spinoff of The Walking Dead . AMC announced the bad news on their Twitter account the other day, which led to many unhappy responses from fans.

While the huge fan base of The Walking Dead has led to record breaking ratings during the first two episodes, it is not often that a brand new show will take a break so early. As many fans of the show on Twitter pointed out, there are no breaks during a zombie apocalypse. Many viewers are still deciding if they enjoy the show, and skipping a week could turn some people off. According to Deadline , Fear The Walking Dead brought in 13.3 million viewers for the first episode entitled “Pilot,” which aired on August 23. The second episode, entitled “So Close, Yet So Far,” which aired on August 30, brought in 11.7 million viewers.
AMC is providing those who may have missed the first two episodes of the show to catch-up with a mini-marathon tonight. Episodes 1 and 2 will air on AMC starting at 6 p.m. ET. While calling two episodes a mini-marathon may be a little too much, it also gives viewers who saw the first two episodes an opportunity to catch little details that they may have missed on their first viewing.

Waiting a week is especially tough since Episode 2 ended with Travis (Cliff Curtis) in a difficult situation with his family. After barely escaping a riot in the streets of Los Angeles, Travis and his family found hiding inside a barbershop with the reluctant Salazar family. Madison (Kim Dickens) and her two children witnessed pure brutality, when a zombified version of one of their neighbors attacked another neighbor. To make matters worse, Nick (Frank Dillane) is still experiencing detox symptoms.
Episode 3, entitled “The Dog,” is going to pick up right where Episode 2 left off. While we do not have many details, it appears as though Travis, his family, and the Salazar family will have to leave the barbershop because of a nearby fire, according to the International Business Times . Madison will continue to protect her family while attempting to figure out the situation with her zombified neighbor.
Like its The Walking Dead counterpart, Season 1 is set to only have six episodes, with a finale date set for October 4. A week later on October 11, the first episode of Season 6 of the The Walking Dead will air. With only four episodes left in the first season of Fear The Walking Dead , things are likely to pick up in the coming weeks, and we will learn more information about the beginning of the outbreak.
