Hulk Officially Cut From ‘Captain America: Civil War’ — When Will He Show Up Next? Where Has He Gone?
It became known a few months ago that Mark Ruffalo was on the set of Marvel’s next sure-to-be hit Captain America: Civil War. He was there to be Bruce Banner (aka Hulk) and to have some kind of role in the battle between superheroes. However, reports claim he has now been cut from the film, and fans are left wondering why.
Before Ruffalo even appeared on the set for Civil War, it was rumored that he would return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in this film. It was revealed that William Hurt was coming back as the character of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, and we all know that is Hulk’s mortal arch-enemy.
The last time anyone saw Hulk was him squeezed into a Quinjet and jetting off for destinations unknown in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Except for Thor, it seemed like Civil War was going to throw everything imaginable at the fans.
Unfortunately, Banner and the “Big Guy” won’t be appearing in Civil War, and he has revealed that there is one big reason for it. When speaking with BadTaste, Mark Ruffalo let the world know why Hulk’s return was indeed cut from the script.
“The reason is too great to be revealed in this movie (Civil War). I was in the script but then they removed my character. They don’t want to reveal where is he and why. I don’t even know if Hulk will be back soon. [Hulk] is still missing, [and it’s] not known where. I thought that I would be in the film, but in the end [Marvel] evidently believe that revealing what happened to Hulk is something too big, and Marvel wants to use this information later. Who knows, maybe Hulk will never return. However, they want to keep the revelation of what happened a secret, because it is something really big.”
Whle that makes perfect sense, it also doesn’t make things any less disappointing. Still, it’s not like Civil War isn’t already packed with actors, characters, storylines, and so much more. It introduces Spider-Man to the MCU, and that’s going to be huge.
With Captain America: Civil War opening on May 6, 2016, it’s going to pave the way toward the end of Marvel’s Phase 3. The two part Avengers: Infinity War that is set to end the whole phase is only just getting its story started.
As Games Radar reported, Hulk is sure to have a big role in Infinity War, but it looks that will be the next time that anyone sees him again. Captain America: Civil War will have to pass on the green guy’s involvement and rely on teams of superheroes battling it out.
