Avril Lavigne And Chad Kroeger Split: Avril Talks Lyme Disease, Special Olympics, Sings With Taylor Swift [Video]
Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger have broken up. And while Avril has unveiled no plans to try to reconcile, Lavigne and Chad both are staying busy, reported People.
While the split with Kroeger has presented challenges for Avril as has her battle with Lyme disease, Lavigne recently proved her musical talents and creativity are still going strong in a variety of ways. And that means Chad’s ex has found three different projects on which to focus, expanding beyond music.
Kroeger, 40, has had to take a hiatus after vocal surgery in contrast. But while he’s taking a break, Avril definitely has been a busy woman.
At 30, Lavigne has become a multitasking whiz, from music to movies to her Abbey Dawn attire line. And it’s not just women to whom those clothes might appeal, because her tank tops, T-shirts, and sweatshirts are also for men.
When it comes to film opportunities, Avril will co-star with Demi Lovato and Ashley Tisdale in Charming. While Demi will take on the lead, Lavigne will become Snow White’s voice in the animated film. Watch for it next year.
It’s music that makes Avril so special, however. And her latest musical projects include a Christmas album as well as a performance with Taylor Swift at her concert in southern California.
But when it came to choosing where to give her first performance following the revelation that she had been struggling with Lyme disease, Lavigne chose to “Fly” for the Special Olympics during the World Games.
And what is happening with Chad? Kroeger had to go through surgery after a cyst was discovered on his vocal box, and that meant the cancelation of the remainder of Nickelback’s planned “No Fixed Address” world tour scheduled dates.
It’s anticipated that he will need up to nine months for recovery.
For Avril, however, that return to the stage with “Fly” gave her wings. Lavigne made a special connection between her battle with Lyme disease and the Special Olympics athletes, reported Entertainment Weekly.
“This was a very beautiful night for me. Congratulations to all the athletes. It has been a difficult year fighting through Lyme Disease for me and I am so happy to have made it on stage tonight for the first performance in a year… Please enjoy my song Fly. I wrote this song to encourage people who are facing challenges, to encourage strength and to empower.”
As the Inquisitr reported, Avril was candid about how Lyme disease had impacted her health emotionally and physically.
Lavigne noted that the process of getting an accurate diagnosis and then learning how to cope with Lyme disease was the most challenging part of the journey.
And as for Chad, he has made the split obvious by moving out. Kroeger was seen going through the process of leaving the house that once was a happy home for the two singers, reported the Daily Mail.
Avril penned the revelation about the breakup on social media.
“It is with heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today. Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we’ve created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other,” wrote Lavigne.
