‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ Stars Tease ‘Most Disturbing Scene’ Ever, Plus New Promos Released [Watch]

American Horror Story has featured a number of frightening and disquieting scenes throughout its four-year run. However, with American Horror Story: Hotel gearing up for its fall premiere, Ryan Murphy has promised the new season will include “the most disturbing scene we’ve ever done.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, the scene in question centers around Gabriel (Max Greenfield), Sally (Sarah Paulson), and a creature called The Addiction Demon. In addition to his eyes being concealed in some sort of stretchy skin, the demon also sports a conical metal dildo.

“He is a representation of that and what people go through fighting addiction,” Murphy explained. “It’s not done lightly or blithely. I think it’s very powerful and strong.”

During the scene, Gabriel and Sally have a little encounter with the demon, and it is anything but a tender moment.

“Ryan gets real pleasure out of how far, I think, he can push it,” Greenfield stated. “And when we were doing that stuff, he was happy and he was scared. We all were. And it was a good vibe on set because of that. I think we were like, ‘F— yeah, man. Let’s push this and let’s see how far we can go.'”

For her part, Paulson, an AHS veteran, noted that the scene wasn’t shocking to her at all.

“None of it’s crazy to me,” she stated. “I walk in and I’m like ‘Hello conical dildo demon person.’ I don’t even think twice. I had two heads last year — I don’t know what you want me to say. Like there’s nothing anybody can do on the show to shock me anymore.”

Meanwhile, three new promotional trailers have officially been released for the upcoming season. The videos, which can be seen below and were posted by Entertainment Weekly, feature a glimpse at the aforementioned demon and Lady Gaga, and also include a look at a guy in a clown getup while a metallic hand reaches around his throat.

While the new season will see the return of past cast members, including Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Paulson, Denis O’Hare, and Finn Wittrock, the season will also introduce Lady Gaga as the owner of the hotel.

“Her character name is Elizabeth,” Murphy told US Weekly. “She owns the hotel, and she is sort of a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people. She has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode.”

American Horror Story: Hotel is set to premiere October 7 on FX.
