WWE News: WWE Executive Believes Bayley Will Be More Popular Than John Cena, Says She’ll Destroy Cena’s Make-A-Wish Record
With three of the Four Horsewomen now wrestling on the main roster, the new NXT Women’s Champion Bayley is, without a doubt, the most popular female wrestler in WWE’s developmental territory. There’s no word yet on when Bayley will finally join Sasha Banks, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch on the main roster, but one long-time WWE executive believes that when she does, she’ll be one of, if not the most over wrestlers on the entire roster, men included.
According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, a long-time WWE executive sent him an email on Thursday night and said that he believes Bayley will not only be the most popular female on the roster when she’s called up, but she’ll destroy John Cena’s Make-A-Wish record, which is currently at 500, and that number will only get bigger as time goes on.
Below is an excerpt from the Observer’s website describing the email from the anonymous WWE exec.
“According to an e-mail received by Bryan Alvarez on Thursday night, a long-time WWE executive believes that Bayley is ‘so ungodly over, especially with little girls,’ that if she were to start granting wishes through Make-A-Wish, ‘she will destroy John Cena.'”
As of right now, WWE isn’t planning on making Bayley or any of the women on the main roster as the company’s number one Diva. Instead, they’re planning on making Eva Marie the face of the WWE Divas division. However, most people expect that she won’t ever get over, which will obviously open that spot up for someone else.
Speaking of Eva Marie, it’s expected that she’ll be the next challenger for Bayley’s NXT Women’s Championship, as her win over Carmella at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn was to set up a title match, although it wasn’t officially a number one contender’s match.
Bayley could end up losing the NXT Women’s Championship to Eva Marie when the two finally do wrestle, and she’ll likely get called up to the main roster shortly thereafter.
Currently, the so-called WWE Divas Revolution has been a flop, and it’s rumored that Team P.C.B. [Paige, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch] is headed towards a break-up, which is WWE’s attempt to salvage the botched storyline. Whenever Bayley is brought in, she won’t be part of any of the three-woman groups, as one or all three could be broken up by the time the NXT Women’s Champ makes it up to WWE’s main roster.
