Brooke Hogan: Hulkster Was ‘Mad At Her’ During Racist Tirade
Brooke Hogan is back in the news today, not because of anything she’s done per se but because of the long-awaited interview with her dad, the legendary Hulk Hogan.
The Hulkster’s career went into shutdown mode after old tape surfaced of him going on a racist tirade about the African-American man his daughter was dating at the time.
Hogan made frequent use of the N-word, and admitted to being “a little racist” on the recording. During his Good Morning America interview that aired Monday morning — see video below — he walked that claim back a bit.
In the interview, Hogan explains that he was going through a very difficult time in his life, “and I was upset with my daughter, for really no reason. I was upset about a situation that happened between her and her boyfriend.”
A mention of Brooke Hogan got her name trending again on Yahoo! and Google, but that wasn’t all Hogan had to say about her.
“She knows me. She’s seen me — kids of every color, nationality… She’s seen me interact with these kids through Make-A-Wish, through just all these different organizations,” Hogan said, choking back tears.
“For me to vent and be so angry at her, she should have been the one — she should have been the one to throw me out like the trash. But instead, she showed me more love than anybody.”
Hogan claimed that Brooke has “never wavered” in her support for him.
“She’s been so supportive… she instantly said ‘I don’t even need to forgive you’ cause I’m not mad at you. I love you. You’re my dad.’ ”

As for Brooke Hogan and what she’s been up to, she did show a great deal of support for her dad when the tape first broke the Internet in early August, even going so far as to write a poem about him.
“If you knew the dad I knew,” Brooke wrote, “you’d know his tender heart. He’d never want to hurt his fans, or family from the start. … Human isn’t perfect, and perfect is not he, but I can tell you one thing, it’s just not what it seems.”
