‘Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials’ Sneak Peeks Leaked Through Clips
Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials recently leaked ominous clips of the soon-to-be released film to increase the anticipation of the sequel to The Maze Runner.
The Scorch Trials stars Teen Wolf actor Dylan O’Brien as Thomas as he and fellow Gladers take on a greater challenge than the Maze in search of a cure for a deadly plague known as the Flare. The gang is searching for clues about the mysterious and powerful WCKD (pronounced Wicked) organization along the way to uncover the cure.
According to Collider, this film finds Thomas and the Gladers trying to navigate the Scorch, a desolate land with challenging obstacles. Throughout the journey, the team finds other fighters in an attempt to unearth the mysteries behind WCKD and what plans they have for their future.
Moviegoers can get a sneak peak at the upcoming sequel to The Maze Runner through clips that were released in August. In the first Scorch Trials clip leaked, Thomas meets Janson (Aiden Gillen) in an interrogation room. Vince has an important question to ask Dylan O’Brien about his allegiance.
A follow-up clip that was released this week shows a distraught Thomas as he warns the Gladers that they are being held captive by WCKD.
The lead actor in Scorch Trials, Dylan O’Brien, is a hot commodity in Hollywood these days. He’s been the best friend to Tyler Posey‘s character on Teen Wolf, although it has been an on-again, off-again relationship. In addition to the Maze movies, he’s also appeared in The Internship with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, as well as a guest appearance on Fox’s New Girl.
A Forbes analyst is predicting Scorch Trials will challenge the September record for opening weekend revenue. Currently held by Hotel Transylvania, the movie grossed more than $32 million last year during opening weekend. To eclipse the record, Scorch Trials would need to take in more than $42.5 million when it opens on September 18.
Gamers don’t have to wait until Scorch Trials arrives in theaters to enjoy the story thanks to Minecraft. The video game developer, Mojang, released an official multiplayer mod earlier this week for players to navigate the evils that exist in the Scorch, according to an article in Tech Times.

Players can change their screen avatar with skins to look like characters from the movie. Now, gamers can actually become Thomas and his gang as they traverse the course moviegoers will see in the Scorch Trials.
