‘Fear The Walking Dead’: Expect New Characters And An Escape Attempt In Episode 2
AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead broke cable records when it debuted. Now, with Sunday fast approaching again, fans are hungry for more information about the latest Walking Dead spin-off series. Episode 2 is entitled “So Close, Yet So Far” and will follow closely behind the end of episode 1.

According to ET Online, there were a few hints dropped from the cast of Fear The Walking Dead when they interviewed them recently about what to expect in episode 2. “So Close, Yet So Far” will carry on from the tail end of episode 1 with Travis (played by Cliff Curtis) and Madison (Kim Dickens) determined to leave L.A. in a bid to avoid “that bug” going around (because, you know, they are still in denial). However, considering the show’s creator, Robert Kirkman, has announced that Fear The Walking Dead will have “zero woods,” it is more than likely their efforts to escape the city are thwarted. Having Nick (Frank Dillane) in the midst of drug withdrawals could potentially be a factor as to why they can’t escape the outbreak.
Here is the episode 2, “So Close, Yet So Far” Synopsis.
“While Madison struggles to keep Nick from a crippling withdrawal, Travis ventures out to find his son before the city of Los Angeles falls.”
Also expect new characters in episode 2 of Fear The Walking Dead. While we know from the synopsis that Travis’ ex-wife, Liza (Elizabeth Rodriguez), and their son, Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) will be featured more in episode 2, there will also be the introduction of the Salazars. This family consists of Daniel (Rubén Blades), Griselda (Patricia Reyes Spíndola) and their daughter, Ofelia (Mercedes Mason). They help Travis, Liza, and Chris out in a time of need and may provide the survival skills that Travis and his two families lack.
“We have new characters that come into our family and our community that really liven things up. And [they] have got skills that we may not have and that helps us sort of to adapt.”
While many people are already calling it, ET Online also indicate that love and zombies don’t mix, so things are looking pretty grim for Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) and her boyfriend, Matt (Maestro Harrell). While she tracks down her missing boyfriend, the entire city of L.A. will be crumbling around her, potentially making her whole story even more bleak.
Added to this latest news is the recent announcement that AMC will be developing yet another Walking Dead spin-off series that will crossover with Fear The Walking Dead. This new spin-off will be a half-hour standalone show that will occur on a plane during the zombie apocalypse. One of the surviving air passengers will turn out to be a Fear The Walking Dead character.
Fear The Walking Dead returns this Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
