As Jessie Eisenberg wraps up his part in the upcoming film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice , the actor only had nice things to say about his experiences on set. In fact, in a recent interview with Collider , Eisenberg praised both the director and writers for putting together an incredible film.
“You know, the script is phenomenal. Written by Chris Terrio, who is just brilliant. And Zack Synder is just visually, masterful. And I think everything that’s been released and parsed within an inch of its life has been received so well.”
In regards to how Synder directed and shot Batman v Superman , Eisenberg compared it to other, more intimate movies he has been a part of.
“The way he shoots things – at least, insofar as my scenes were concerned – was very specifically and very simply a lot of my scenes are dialogue driven and it felt like I was on any other kind of intimate movie set,” he explained.
Eisenberg is set to play Lex Luthor, Superman’s main nemesis in the movie. With a storyline that contains a lot of characters and moving parts, the actor revealed that he didn’t have a good feel on how the movie would turn out until he saw the trailer.
“So watching that trailer for the first time, was when I really got a good sense of the overall movie, the look, and I thought it was really incredible. The environment on the set is one of respect and intimacy and allows the actors to do what actors do well even in the context of this huge and larger scope. And the production.”
Eisenberg went on to add that the attention the movie is getting by fans is something that he isn’t entirely used to encountering. In particular, Eisenberg was struck by the level in which fans break down every image and trailer that has been released concerning the movie.
“I’ve never been involved for something that is parsed to this degree. Whether it be something that someone says that has some tangential relation to the movie or the trailer images that are released. It was initially surprising and fortunately the movie is really wonderful. So when people are parsing what the individual’s images maybe be, the takeaway is how interesting the movie looks and how wonderful it is.”
