It’s Back To School Time For Antonio Banderas As He Enrolls In Fashion School
Spanish-born Hollywood star Antonio Banderas has decided to head back to school. While kids in the northern hemisphere gradually begin to head back to school after the long summer holiday, it seems a certain movie star is thinking in the same vein.
Antonio Banderas has shown a lot of interest in the past in the industry and has decided to head back to school. He has enrolled at a fashion school at the Central St. Martins University in London to learn about the art of bespoke tailoring.
He is reportedly into his second week of study at the fashion school and shared the news on his Twitter account. His back to school experience so far is that it is intensive, exciting, serious and fun all at the same time.

Business Standard quotes a spokeswoman from the fashion school as saying, “(Antonio Banderas is) starting from scratch and learning the basics of bespoke tailoring.”
When interviewed on the TV talk show Loose Women about his plans on heading back to school, Banderas said that this is something that has been on his mind for a long time.

However Banderas did add that his new studies in the fashion sphere will not affect his normal professional life. He will continue acting and directing, but wants to do something more with his life.
“(Central St. Martins) is probably one of the best schools in the world… and so I am going to start studying with them… I need knowledge to take steps in that territory.”
“It makes me feel actually very young to put the elbows on the table again and try to understand another reality. Of course, I won’t stop my professional life, I’ll continue acting, directing – but this is a new thing.”
According to Jezebel, the art and design school has had some high-profile students in the past, including Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney and John Galliano.

However current and future students at the college mustn’t get too excited at the prospect, as Antonio Banderas will not be mingling with most of the other students. He is reportedly taking a special short course running up until October when the normal full-time courses restart.
The interview with Antonio Banderas for Loose Women from March this year is included below. Whether Banderas will, in future, be tailoring his own smart suits is unknown.
