ABC ’20/20′ Goes Inside The Murder Of Alison Parker And Her Love Life With Chris Hurst, Plus More Background On Killer Bryce Williams

Tonight ABC 20/20 goes inside the “live on-air murder” of Alison Parker and Adam Ward. ABC 20/20 will also take a peek inside the loving relationship that Alison Parker had with her boyfriend Chris Hurst.

The shooting deaths of two journalists has left American viewers in shock and disbelief as footage of the live on-air-murders made its rounds on social media and on news websites. Alison Parker and photojournalist Adam Ward were killed on live TV on August 26, 2015. The shooting occurred while Alison Parker was doing a live interview with the leader of the Chamber of Commerce, Vicky Gardner. Alison Parker, Adam Ward, and Vicky Gardner were all gunned down by a man who was identified as Vester Lee Flanagan, also known as television personality Bryce Williams. Vicky Gardner survived the attack. Allison Parker and Adam Ward died at the scene, according to TMZ.

ABC 20/20 will also reveal some disturbing details regarding Vester Lee Flanagan’s background. Flanagan, aka Bryce Williams, was known as a difficult employee who did not work well with his coworkers. Investigators say that Bryce Williams shot and killed Alison and Adam out of revenge for being fired from the same television station. In Bryce Williams’ own words, he indicated that he believed that Alison Parker was a racist and complained that Adam Ward had reported him to his superiors.

Heather Myers writes, “Our ND hired and fired suspected shooter [Bryce Williams] in 2000 in Tenn. Fired for bizarre behavior and threatening employees.”

WDBJ general manager Jeffrey Marks writes, “He was a difficult person for a lot of people to work with.”

Bryce Williams, a former Jehovah’s Witness, also claims that he was motivated to kill the TV journalists due to the church shootings. It seems that Williams’ life had down spiraled due to his unstable mental health and a series of disappointments caused by his bizarre behavior and aggressive personality. It is reported that Bryce Williams was viewed as such a threat, that he had to be physically escorted out of the building after he was fired.

ABC 20/20 will reveal that Alison Parker and news anchor Chris Hurst had only been a couple for nine months, and that the two had plans to marry. Alison’s father is grieving heavily over the loss of his daughter, stating that he is trying to “find purpose,” and that he has been “crying his eyes out.” Two other fatal shooting videos captured the nation’s attention in the 1990’s. In one case, a grieving mother was gunned down at a cemetery by her ex husband as she was visiting her daughter’s grave. Another video captured the death of a beautiful Dominican bride who was shot to death at her own wedding by an ex boyfriend.
