Rosie O’Donnell Daughter Drama Delights Haters: Here’s How They’re ‘Celebrating’

The Rosie O’Donnell daughter drama that has found its way onto national headlines over the last few weeks is proof that some people just love to kick you while you’re down.

After the comedian frantically sought help for runaway daughter Chelsea O’Donnell three weeks ago, critics took notice and used it as a way to criticize Rosie’s parenting skills.

Now that the Rosie O’Donnell daughter drama has escalated with Chelsea choosing to leave the house and live with her birth mother, the backlash from haters has been pretty brutal.

Not surprisingly, much of it comes from conservative websites like Newsmax, where a torrent of commenters have not been kind.

“I read somewhere that fat cow rosie [sic] abused her.”

“You speak as though it was past tense…I say she most likely is still abusing her and that’s why she ran away!”

“If I had that freak for a mother I’d run as far and as fast I could too…no wonder the girl is on meds, look at who she lives with, the queen of queer…Rosie.”

When the 17-year-old adopted Rosie O’Donnell daughter ran away from home on August 11, she was found in the company of 25-year-old Steven Sheerer, who was arrested “on charges of distribution of obscenity to a minor and endangering the welfare of a child,” CNN reports.

Rosie maintains that Chelsea initially ran away because she had stopped taking her medication for an unspecified “mental illness.”

On Thursday, representatives for the comedian once again brought up the mental illness as a reason the now 18-year-old girl chose to live with her biological mother.

A source tells People that it was always Chelsea’s plan to return to her birth mom. The source also noted that Chelsea and Rosie “had a good relationship,” but that it was difficult for the younger girl when friends would want to discuss her celebrity mom.

In spite of this, it has not stopped the Rosie hate and speculation from piling up.

Going back to Newsmax, more conservative commenters weighed in.

“The daughter’s supposed ‘mental illness’ has a lot to do with her mentally ill, sexually perverted (lesbian) mother. And this crazy ‘mother’ likely had a lot to do with her daughter getting on psychiatric drugs (anti-depressants, etc.) which are very destructive to people.”

Is it any wonder there is so much GOP support for this guy?
