WWE Rumors: Card For Madison Square Garden Special On WWE Network — Brock Lesnar’s Opponent Revealed
Brock Lesnar is not happy about his loss to The Undertaker at WWE SummerSlam this past Sunday, and, well, he decided to take it out on Bo Dallas on Monday Night RAW. Maybe that means Dallas will want to get some revenge on Lesnar for what he did to him on Monday night, and if he does, then he may get his chance in Madison Square Garden.
It was revealed in late July that Lesnar was scheduled for a non-televised event at Madison Square Garden. The event is going to be a WWE Network Special in New York City and will take place on October 3.
Brock Lesnar’s new deal with WWE, signed earlier this year, has him working more dates than his previous contract. Some of them will be non-televised events, but this Madison Square Garden event is turning into a special for the WWE Network, and is actually shaping up to be a pretty big card.
Now, the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Brock Lesnar could actually be taking on Bo Dallas at the event in MSG. Maybe the fans will get the more they were asking for on Monday Night RAW.
That looks like it will be a rather competitive match. It will probably be along the same lines as when Brock Lesnar destroyed Kofi Kingston in Tokyo for Beast in the East.
This will be Lesnar’s first time in the Garden in over 10 years.
Speaking of that Tokyo event, another WWE part-timer will be at Madison Square Garden, and that will be Chris Jericho. He took on Neville at Beast in the East, and will be in New York to celebrate being in the wrestling business for 25 years. No opponent has been named yet for Y2J.
As reported by the Madison Square Garden website, some more of the card has been revealed so far, but it doesn’t seem like the whole thing is complete yet. Please also note that it’s still over a month away, and the card is “subject to change.”
Currently, the card is listed as follows.
- Randy Orton vs. Sheamus
- Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev
- Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro
- WWE Title: Seth Rollins (c) vs. John Cena
Now, obviously, this card is very early, as it actually still lists Cena as the United States Champion, which he no longer is. Also, this card is out a full month in advance, and the event will take place after Night of Champions, which could see Rollins end up losing his WWE Title to Sting.
Madison Square Garden is going have a huge night for the WWE Network special, with a lot of big names and Brock Lesnar possibly destroying Bo Dallas to the delight of the fans. Obviously, WWE is putting a lot into this, so it’s much more than a house show.
