“Full of festive December moments with family, friends, presents, and of course Santa Claus — and featuring lively yuletide illustrations — (the book) is poised to become a part of Christmas traditions for many years to come, alongside the classic song,” Random House shared in their press release.
Associate Publishing Director Frances Gilbert hopes to target all ages with Carey’s book, inspired by her timeless classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” Carey both wrote and produced the song that earned positive praise by critics back then and now. Since its inception the song has been covered by a slew of musicians that include Miley Cyrus, Big Time Rush, Demi Lovato and more.
“I am so proud of the song’s impact as it continues to create memories for fans each year,” Carey commented. Adding, “I am thrilled to be able to bring the story of the song to new generations of families with the picture book.”
Carey’s childrens book will be accompanied by illustrations created by artist Colleen Madden, People reported. Just in time for the holidays, the book will hit shelves on November 10, published through Random’s Doubleday Books for Young Readers.
The 45-year-old has also been busy working on a new holiday TV movie for the Hallmark Channel. Carey will not only star in the project, announced in July, but direct as well. The holiday movie will be released as part of Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas line-up this season, with shooting on Mariah Carey’s Christmas Project set to begin in October.
Mariah Carey, who took up residency at The Colosseum at the Caesars Palace hotel in Las Vegas this past January, has sold well over 200 million albums and has released 13 studio albums since the start of her successful career.
