Bobby Brown stepped on stage for the first time since the funeral services for his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. The distraught dad laid his daughter to rest on August 3, but on Sunday, he took to the stage at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California.
E! Online reports that Brown, 46, performed with singer Macy Gray as a surprise guest. They sang “Real Love” together, a duet the pair released in 2010. Brown, dressed in a dark grey suit and a tan, brown-striped fedora hat, surprised the crowd as he walked on the stage. Brown wasn’t on the lineup to appear, but the concert-goers were pleasantly surprised to see him.
Walking onto the stage, Brown was met with cheers and screams as he made his way to join Gray. While excited fans chanted “Bobby,” the “Every Little Step” singer thanked the audience and gave a welcoming smile.

Meanwhile, Brown remains mum on the ongoing criminal investigation into Bobbi Kristina’s death. Last month, he indicated that he just wants justice for his daughter, but he didn’t elaborate or mention his daughter’s former boyfriend, Nick Gordon, who remains the primary suspect in the January 31 incident that left Bobbi Kristina comatose in a bath full of cold water. Authorities found the 22-year-old face down in her bathtub, with unusual bruises and marks on her body.
Brown recently welcomed a new daughter into his family, while at the same time saying goodbye to Bobbi Kristina. It’s been a tumultuous year for the singer, who recently indicated that he should have done more for Bobbi Kristina. According to a close friend, Brown blames himself for his daughter’s death.
“Bobby has so much guilt that it is eating him up every day. He told me he should have insisted Krissy get help for her drug addiction and he should have forced Nick Gordon to move out of her townhouse and leave her alone — legally, if necessary.”
The friend said that Brown also compared Bobbi Kristina’s situation to singer Britney Spears, who was sent to a rehab center after her father allegedly forced the “Baby” singer to go for prescription drug abuse treatment at the Summit Malibu rehab center in Malibu, California.
“I should have gone to court to get a judge to make Bobbi Kristina go to rehab and then become her guardian — like Britney Spears’ father did to save her.”
To make matters worse, Brown’s wife, Alicia Etheredge, had a seizure on the day of Bobbi Kristina’s burial. Etheridge, a diabetic, was rushed to hospital. Nevertheless, it seems as if Brown is trying to carry on with his career and remain strong through the difficulties.
Bobbi Kristina Brown was buried on August 3 next to her mother, the late Whitney Houston, at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey.
