After Leaving K-Pop Group f(x), Sulli Receives Her First Film Offer After Solely Committing To Acting
Earlier this month, it was reported Sulli, who is known for being one of the members of f(x), has parted ways with the K-pop group. Her reasonsing is to concentrate on her solo career, specifically acting. The decision was probably not a hard one for Sulli to make given the fact she’s been the lead in K-movie Fashion King and the lead in K-drama To The Beautiful You.
Well, Sulli’s choice to solely be an actress is bearing fruit. Sulli has now been offered a main role in a film, the first one after leaving f(x) and commit to acting.
Reportedly, Sulli is a strong candidate for the upcoming K-movie, Rose: She’s My Mother, as reported by AllKpop. It is a melodrama about a woman named Rose and her experiences with love throughout her life. Right now, Song Yoon Ah is considering to star in the main role as the older version of Rose. However, the movie is about Rose’s life throughout the years. Ergo, Sulli is considered to play Rose in her younger years. As a reference, Rose: She’s My Mother draws similarities to another K-movie, Architecture 101.
If Sulli does get the role, it will be her first main role since departing from f(x). Evidently, expectations will be high since the public will want to see if Sulli’s acting has improved from her last main role in K-movie, Fashion King. Thankfully, she won’t have to take on this endeavor alone as SM Entertainment has committed to support her despite her departure from f(x), as reported by KdramaStars.
Also, it should be noted that Sulli no longer being with f(x) probably favors her personally, too. While in the K-pop group, she’s been the center of many controversies and rumors. This caused Sulli to withdraw from the public, which in turn affected promotions for another film she starred in — The Pirates. By leaving f(x), she also leaves behind all the drama that comes with it.
