Bella Thorne Thinks She And Patrick Schwarzenegger Are Creating The Next ‘Notebook’
Will Bella Thorne and Patrick Schwarzenegger become the next Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling?
Bella certainly seems to hope so. The 17-year-old actress recently made a bold move by comparing her upcoming movie, Midnight Sun, to The Notebook. That tearjerker is arguably one of the most beloved chick flicks of all time, so Bella’s high praise better be warranted — if she’s wrong, she might lose the respect of a lot of Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams fans.
During an interview with the Wrap, Bella Thorne talked about starring alongside Patrick Schwarzenegger in Midnight Sun. She said the movie is like The Notebook because it centers on “a very sad love story,” and, much like The Notebook, Midnight Sun explores the devastating effect that a disease can have on a relationship.
However, Bella’s character doesn’t suffer from a disease that affects her memory. As the Inquisitr previously reported, she suffers from a very rare condition that makes sunlight exposure deadly. This definitely makes dating difficult — she has to find a guy who doesn’t mind the vampire-like lifestyle that she’s forced to live. Luckily, Patrick Schwarzenegger’s character is ready to put his best night moves on the sun shunner.
“It’s going to be awesome,” Bella told the Wrap. “It’s going to be really cool. Hopefully — if we can do it and we’re really good and we make it a good movie — hopefully it will be somewhat like The Notebook.”
Bella Thorne did her best to play up the tragic romance of Midnight Sun during a recent interview with Perez Hilton.
“If the tiniest bit of sunlight touches her, she dies. She meets a boy that she’s been in love with her whole life, watching him grow up through her window. Long story short, they fall in love.”
Sadly, it sounds like fans of young romance better get ready to cry like they did after watching The Fault In Our Stars — Bella revealed that the movie isn’t going to have “the happiest of endings.” However, she and Patrick Schwarzenegger still might manage to have a blast working on Midnight Sun together. According to Bella, she’s good friends with Miley Cyrus’s good-looking ex.
“We have been buddies. We’ve been so close, so we already have that background. When you’re in love with somebody, you’re best friends, too. So it’s really great that we have that. Hopefully it will really look like we’re really in love.”

Bella Thorne’s boyfriend, Gregg Sulkin, better hope that Midnight Sun doesn’t have too much in common with The Notebook — Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams fell in love with each other while working on their popular romance.
