Noel Gallagher Finally Speaks Out About His Terrifying Stalker
Noel Gallagher, the notorious former frontman for the band Oasis, recently revealed information about a strange stalker that he’s had to deal with in recent years in an interview with talkSport.
Noel Gallagher started out the segment of the interview talking about when he’d joked that he’d wanted a stalker, as if it was the sign of making it in the music industry.
“It was the two gigs at Main Road, in 1995, because it was the first time we’d done a football stadium. And I think we’d only signed off [with a record label] only 18 months before… It was a great weekend, and I was like thinking, ‘This is it, man. I definitely, definitely want a chimp after this. And a top hat. And I want a mirrored Rolls Royce. And a couple of stalkers.”
Though there was lots of levity in that first part of the interview, Noah Gallagher ended up getting what he had originally joked about.
“I have had a stalker. Yes. She’s German, actually. Yeah. Seriously… she’s German. She’s a proper lunatic. [She would] break into hotels and stuff, yeah, and like, shouting underneath the door as I’m calling my security guard. Get this headcase out of here. And she’s like, ‘I know you’re in there!’… She’s not the most attractive woman I’ve got to say.”
Noel Gallagher isn’t the only high-profile musician who has had to deal with stalkers over the years.
Britney Spears reportedly had to deal with a stalker who was dressed in camouflage while casing Spears’ home. When questioned, the stalker said she was working on a documentary about the star.
In 2010, Lady Gaga received a letter from a fan indicating that he was “not Mark Chapman,” (the man who assassinated John Lennon). Though, in the letter he said that he wanted to die with Gaga, but that he would make sure he killed himself with the same bullet. When the stalker attempted to get backstage at one of Gaga’s shows, a restraining order was obtained.
Some stalkers apparently try to make a career out of it. Justin Timberlake’s most notorious stalker, a woman named Karen McNeil, tried to break into Timberlake’s home on three different occasions. It was later reported that she had previously been a stalker of Axl Rose. It seems that musical tastes can change over time for stalkers just like normal people.
John Lennon was reportedly continuously dogged by stalkers for the last two decades of his life before he was ruthlessly assassinated by one in 1980.
Even Glenn Danzig had a run-in with a particularly strange stalker. When a man was caught by Danzig and one of his security guards on Glenn’s property one Halloween, the man was discovered with a backpack full of hardcore porn magazines. What was really strange about it? The man had glued pictures of Danzig’s head over the pictures of all the people in the magazines. Both the men and the women.
