LLWS Results 2015: Day One Game Results Coming In At Little League World Series

The 2015 Little League World Series results are already coming in from Day 1 of the tournament. The LLWS results begin with one game each from the U.S. and International brackets from Friday morning (Aug. 21). As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there are eight games taking place on Day 1 of the schedule. If the first two games are any indication, it is going to be an extremely exciting series for the 16 participating teams.

The International bracket got things started on Friday (Aug. 21), with the Uganda (Europe-Africa) vs. Dominican Republic (Caribbean) game taking place. Uganda scored one run in the first inning and three runs in third inning to win this game 4-1. Despite only getting three hits on the day, Uganda took full advantage of the opportunities presented to them. The Dominican Republic will now need to regroup for an elimination game on Saturday (Aug. 22).

In the other morning game, Texas (Southwest) beat Oregon (Northwest) by a score of 1-0, with each team only getting one hit on the day. Jarrett Tadlock pitched for Texas allowing just one hit over 4 1/3 innings of work, using 53 pitches, striking out eight hitters. Dylan MacLean went 5 2/3 innings for Oregon, allowing that one run on a home run, but struck out 12 batters on 86 pitches. That home run was from Texas leadoff hitter Isaac Garcia, who is the early hero for Pearland West Little League. The Oregon team from Wilshire-Riverside Little League now faces an elimination game on Saturday.

There are six more games taking place on Friday, with one underway in both the U.S. bracket and the International bracket. In the Venezuela (Latin America) vs. Australia game, the teams are tied 2-2 heading into the top of the fifth inning. The other ongoing game is Kentucky (Great Lakes) vs. California (West), with the team from Sweetwater Valley Little League (California) taking a quick 3-0 lead with a second-inning, three-run homer from Dante Schmid. He is also the pitcher for the team, and has yet to give up a hit through the first two innings.

Later games on the Day 1 schedule are South Carolina vs. Rhode Island, Pennsylvania vs. Missouri, Canada vs. Mexico, and Chinese Taipei vs. Japan. The four losing teams from Day 1 have to play again on Saturday, while the four winning teams get to wait to play until Sunday (August 23). More 2015 LLWS results will come out through Friday, with some very exciting match-ups on the schedule.

Updates from later on Friday include Latin America 5 – Australia 2, West 14 – Great Lakes 2, Mexico 1 – Canada 0, and Southwest 7 – New England 1. Further LLWS results will come from the Asia-Pacific vs. Japan and Mid-Atlantic vs. Midwest games later in the evening.
