Josh Duggar could be the subject of an upcoming episode of MTV’s Catfish if he actually managed to fool a naive young woman with his fake Facebook page.
Gawker already revealed that Josh Duggar used another man’s photo to create an OKCupid dating profile, and the former 19 Kids and Counting star seemingly obtained this picture by doing a Google image search for “random guy” (clever, isn’t he?). Now Radar Online is reporting that Josh Duggar also set up a Facebook page using another man’s image, and it appears as though he mostly used this profile to befriend women who live in Arkansas. Perhaps he tried to use the social media site to arrange meetings with women before getting desperate and turning to Ashley Madison , a website that helps married men arrange affairs. Information about Josh’s Ashley Madison account was recently found in a data dump that hackers leaked online.
Radar discovered that the same email address Josh Duggar used to set up his Ashley Madison account, [email protected], is connected to a Facebook account under the name Joe Smithson. The account has existed since at least 2004, which was actually a few years before Josh met Anna. However, it was still active as late as January 2014 (Josh set up his first of two Ashley Madison accounts in February 2013). Most of the friends on the Joe Smithson Facebook account are women who live in Josh’s home state of Arkansas, and they include a lingerie model and a stripper who works at the Sensation’s Gentlemen’s Club in Jacksonville. According to the Freejinger website, there are rumors that Josh used to frequent strip clubs in Arkansas.
If Josh did create the page to catfish unsuspecting women, he chose an odd photo to lure them in — Perez Hilton reports that the picture on the Facebook profile is a blurry snapshot of Jonathan Blankfein , the son of a Goldman Sachs CEO.
In a statement that was posted on the Duggar Family website, Josh hinted that he eventually succeeded in using his online accounts to cheat on his wife of seven years, Anna Duggar.
“I have been the biggest hypocrite ever,” Josh wrote. “While espousing faith and family values, I have been unfaithful to my wife. I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.”
It was probably difficult for Josh Duggar to lead this “double life” with the TLC camera crews following him around, but he’s probably missing them now that 19 Kids and Counting has been cancelled — his family made a lot of money off of their reality series, and Josh is going to have a hard time finding a well-paying job now that an internet search for his name brings up millions of stories about him molesting his sisters and cheating on his wife.
19 Kids and Counting fans are probably having a tough time believing that this Josh Duggar is the same one who sang a song about loyalty to Anna Duggar during their 2008 televised wedding. Josh starts speaking about loyalty at the 3:37 mark below, and he starts singing soon afterward.
Do you think Anna Duggar would be crazy to stay with Josh knowing what she knows now?
