Everybody can agree that Taylor Swift’s 1989 pop album is amazing, giving us songs that remind us of our own heartbreaks to songs that make us want to get up and dance. Celebrities have even come out showing their love for Swift and her album, like Britney Spears saying she was a “Swiftie.” Recently though, Ryan Adams has taken to his social media to show a different kind of love for Taylor and her 1989 album.
Adams said that he will be covering the complete 1989 album, changing it from Taylor’s pop album to more of a “Smiths-style” album. Adams has been posting snippets of the covers on his social media pages, and it is nothing short of amazing. According to EW , Swift has been a huge supporter of Ryan Adams covering her album, and even shares the behind-the-scenes clips with her own fans.
In a statement, Swift said as follows.
“Ryan Adams is one of the artists who shape my songwriting. My favorite part of his style of creating music is his ability to bleed aching vulnerability into it, and that’s what he’s done with his cover project of my album 1989 . When I first heard that Ryan was going to be covering my entire album, I couldn’t believe it. It’s such an honor that he would want to take my stories and lyrics and give them a new life. He’s gotten some of the best musicians together to record this album and if the clips he’s released are any indication, this is going to be something really special.”
So far, Adams has shown us clips from Taylor Swift’s album of “Out Of The Woods,” “All You Had To Do Was Stay,” “Wildest Dreams,” ( which is Swift’s next single ), “Style,” “Blank Space,” “Welcome To New York,” and “Bad Blood,” giving them his own personal flair.
A release date for the album has not yet been announced, but by the looks of social media, Taylor Swift fans and folk rock fans alike are going crazy for the previews that Adams has been showing us.
Earlier this month, Adams’ took to Twitter to announce the cover of Swift’s album, where Taylor had to perfect reply to.
Adams hasn’t been shy about showing his progress on social media, and even tags Taylor in most of his tweets and previews.
