Amber Portwood has just requested prayers for her fiance, Matthew Baier. In a Facebook post to fans on August 20, the Teen Mom OG star revealed Baier has been hospitalized with a “bad infection.”
“Everyone please keep Matt in your prayers. He has a bad infection and is sick. He’s just now coming home from the hospital..sending love,” Amber Portwood wrote .
Following Amber Portwood’s request, OK! Magazine published a report, noting the odd timing of Baier’s hospitalization. According to the entertainment site, Amber Portwood’s news comes just days after she and Baier were accused of being involved in a drug ring .
“This Teen Mom is caught up in something that will bring her crashing into a harsh reality,” a user shared on Twitter earlier this week.
“A drug ring. Not coke or anything like that but prescription pills, steroids and other illegal items. She thinks she is in love so just goes along with it all. Amber Portwood. Matt Baier.”
As the Inquisitr reported, the user’s allegation was simply listed as a “blind item,” and thus far, there appears to be no evidence of Amber Portwood’s involvement with drugs. In addition, both Amber Portwood and her brother, Shawn, have denied the allegations against her and Baier.
In other Amber Portwood news, she recently revealed she was planning to file for joint custody of her 6-year-old daughter, Leah. In an interview with MTV News , Amber Portwood revealed that while she is able to see her daughter often, she would like to have more legal rights to the child.
“I think Leah would adjust to joint custody very well. We do it now. We practice it now. So, it isn’t a change, it’s just legal. I don’t feel any less of a mother, because I know I’m a good mom to her, and we have an amazing relationship and anybody watching this can see it, but I want to feel like I have some control.”
As fans of Teen Mom OG will recall, Amber Portwood signed over the rights to her daughter, Leah, to Shirley in 2012, just before she entered what was supposed to be a 5-year prison term. After entering an Indiana prison in June 2012, Amber Portwood received a number of visits from her daughter behind bars before she was released in November of the following year after serving just 17 months.
Amber Portwood’s fiance is reportedly taking antibiotics for the alleged infection.
