Ellen DeGeneres, Ashton Kutcher, And Will Ferrell Rally For Justin Bieber’s ‘What Do You Mean’

Ellen DeGeneres, Ashton Kutcher, Will Ferrell, and more are the latest stars to co-sign Justin Bieber’s celebrity-assisted countdown to the release of his upcoming single, “What Do You Mean,” on August 28.

Early on Thursday, he shared a Instagramming a Photoshopped photo of funnyman Will Ferrell with the song title written across. Ferrell, was a guest roaster at the Biebs’ televised skewering back in March. The singer then Instagrammed a video of new father-one-one, Kutcher.

“8 days… 8 days. @aplusk #WhatDoYouMean?” the heartthrob wrote next to the upload.

During the clip, the 37-year-old Kutcher riffs on “8 days” as if confused.

Next up, the stars of the October-opening movie Jem and the Holograms and its director Jon M. Chu were seen in a pic holding up paper plates with the single’s title spelled out on each other. Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun co-produced the film. Chu helmed Bieber’s 2011 concert-movie, Never Say Never, and 2013’s Believe.

Justin captioned the pic, with “Thanks @jonmchu and @jemthemovie for the love. #8days #whatdoyoumean.”

Like Braun’s other artists, Tori Kelly, Ariana Grande, Martin Garrix — who previously appeared in Justin’s countdown — country music duo Dan + Shay Mooney made an appearance today and even sang.

“Thanks for the song guys. @danandshay what do you mean? #8days,” the Canadian wrote alongside the snap.

A little later, popular daytime host and Bieber pal, Ellen DeGeneres, got her spot.

“What Do You Mean? @theellenshow #8days she has always been there for me. Love Ellen. See you soon,” Justin noted.

DeGeneres was one of the first television daytime hosts to interview the former child star when his career exploded back in 2009. The comedienne-host demonstrated her support for the Biebs at the start of 2015 by extending an open invitation to Justin to come on her show, after he returned to the spotlight following two difficult years.

Bieber did exactly that. After his first “nervy” appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show in January, he famously posted a frank self-shot video and acknowledged his past missteps. He subsequently explained on the show that early fame went to head and that it wasn’t something he could prepare for.

Two fun postings came next, featuring a pug dog named Doug in Calvin Klein underwear.

Then, Elite model, Xenia Deli. Justin captioned her post, “@xeniadeli what do you mean? Thanks #8days music video on the way.”

The star was referring to the music video for “What Do You Mean,” which began shooting late on Tuesday. Xenia plays the singer’s love interest in the visual, which was filmed in Hollywood, California, in a number of outside settings and an indoor location where extras can seen skateboarding around Justin.

Somewhat impressively, Justin was still at the video shoot during Thursday’s countdown when he tweeted the following.

The ongoing countdown and music video news comes after Bieber sent one line snippets of “What Do You Mean” lyrics to 49 fans via direct message on Twitter on Wednesday. It prompted thousands of fans to put the pieces together to assemble the song.

Ever since Justin hit up On Air With Ryan Seacrest last month to announce his new, “up-tempo,” “summery” single and kick off his 30-day celebrity-packed countdown, it has been interesting seeing who turns up in the diverse roll call.

With stars including James Corden, Mariah Carey, Travis Scott, Ariana Grande, Shaquille O’Neal, Fifth Harmony, Luke Bryan, Ed Sheeran, Meghan Trainor, CL, Alanis Morissette, Little Mix, Ashley Benson, Tony Hawk, Christina Perri, professional wrestler Dylan Bostic, Hilary Duff, 21 Pilots, Tori Kelly, Ryan Sheckler, Will Ferrell, Hailee Steinfeld, Usher, Ellen, Kutcher, and more enlisted, it’s clear Team Bieber are attempting to not only Justin’s teen, female fanbase, but also other age groups and fans from a variety of music genres and pop culture interests.

Even Charlie “See You Again” Puth has endorsed the Biebs’ upcoming jam.

“What Do You Mean” is the lead single from Justin’s next studio album, which is reportedly preparing to land on November 13. The singer is heading to Montreal’s BeachClub to host a party, the day before performing at the Billboard’s first-ever Hot 100 Festival on Sunday, Aug 23, where he will also play “Where Are Ü Now,” his collaborative banger with Jack Ü’s Skrillex and Diplo.
