‘The Bachelorette’ Star Ben Higgins Dating Tenley Molzahn? How Can He Be The Next ‘Bachelor’?
Despite the rumors that Ben Higgins is slated to become the next lead man on The Bachelor, recent news concerning a girlfriend might pose a problem for Higgins becoming the next Bachelor.
According to Christian Post, Higgins is currently in a relationship with his Bachelor in Paradise co-star, Tenley Molzahn. Obviously, Higgins would not be able to star in a reality dating series while in a relationship with someone outside of the show.
However, Reality TV World is reporting that Higgins has put a hold on things with Mozahn, and didn’t accept a job promotion in order to increase his chances at being on The Bachelor. In fact, a source close to both reality stars stated that they are both being careful so that they don’t hurt his chances to be on the show.
“[They] want to hook up but haven’t… They’re being careful not to jeopardize Ben H.’s Bachelor stint.”
The news that Higgins and Molzahn are possibly seeing each other is certainly an interesting development considering the nature of the show. Even if they decide to put things on hold, it is unclear if ABC will want to select him to be on The Bachelor if he still has ties with Molzahn.
Meanwhile, Chris Harrison recently stated that the next lead man on The Bachelor will be announced soon. With that in mind, fans will finally learn the identity of the man during After Paradise on August 24.
Despite the potential issues Higgins may have to deal with before starring in The Bachelor, multiple sources have confirmed that he is ABC’s top contender for the role. Additionally, both Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth, who both starred in the most recent season of The Bachelorette, have expressed their support for Higgins.
Booth and Bristowe agreed that Higgins is the best man for the job, and that he is one of the most likable guys they encountered during their time on The Bachelorette.
The news that ABC is working to sign Higgins comes in light of the fact that Higgins has stated that he’s “not extremely comfortable” with the added attention that comes with being on a reality show.
The other possible candidates for the spot include Nick Viall and Ben Zorn. Whoever is selected to become the next Bachelor will also make an appearance during the live after show on August 24.
Season 20 of The Bachelor is expected to premiere in January, 2016.
