Kathie Lee Gifford Return: ‘Today’ Co-Host Gets Emotional About Late Husband, Frank [Video]
Kathie Lee Gifford made her return to The Today Show on Monday, just one week after her husband, Frank Gifford, passed away. According to Today, Kathie Lee Gifford’s return was very emotional as she spoke about her husband and paid tribute to him by telling the world about his faith, and speaking very sweet words about what a wonderful man he was.
“I just want everyone to know this was a man at complete peace in his life. He might have been the happiest, most content man at this point in his life. Honestly, he’s the most grateful human being I’ve ever, ever known. And that colored everything he did,” Kathie Lee said before sharing a couple of really wonderful stories about the man she had been married to for nearly 30 years.
Kathie Lee Gifford’s return was somewhat surprising, as many thought that she would take at least a couple of weeks off of work, but she seems like she is in a really good place, and she is really keeping herself focused on her faith to get her through.
According to Mail Online, Kathie Lee made sure that she took some time to thank everyone for their love and support this morning, especially her family at NBC, her co-host and friend, Hoda Kotb, and all of the fans that sent in their condolences over the past week.
“I want to thank everybody for your love and your texts and your tweets and just the outpouring has been extraordinary. It’s a heck of a way to find out how loved you are. Believe me, my family and I got strength and comfort for it,” said Gifford.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Frank Gifford passed away on Sunday, August 9. He died in peace, quietly, and died of “natural causes.” Frank would have celebrated his 85th birthday on August 16. He and Kathie Lee have the same birthday; she turned 62 yesterday.
