Taylor Swift Backlash: Why Fans And The Pop World Are Turning On The ‘Bad Blood’ Singer
Taylor Swift is a headline maker these days. The record-selling pop star is not one to cause controversy, but that doesn’t mean she can escape its wrath. Several reports claim that both the pop world and fans are turning on Taylor, due to the constant news about the new princess of pop.
Taylor Swift has taken over the pop world by storm, thanks to the success of her 1989 album. But it looks like the “Bad Blood” singer has found herself in a growing list of feuds, leading reports to claim that the pop world is turning against her.
Most recently, Miley Cyrus slammed Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” video in her September 2015 interview with Marie Claire magazine.
“I don’t get the violence revenge thing. That’s supposed to be a good example? And I’m a bad role model because I’m running around with my t***ies” out? I’m not sure how t***ies are worse than guns.”
Swift then found herself in a brief Twitter feud with Nicki Minaj last month when she accused the “Anaconda” rapper of pitting women against women.
Nicki tweeted how disappointed she was that her video wasn’t nominated for Video of the Year. She wrote: “When the ‘other’ girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination.”
Taylor thought that the tweet was about her. She tweeted: “I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.”
Swift was reportedly forced to apologize after receiving backlash from both fans and the media who pointed out that Minaj wasn’t talking about the singer. The rapper was actually addressing how black women are rarely awarded in the music industry.
Taylor is also reportedly in a feud with Katy Perry. The former friends had a falling out around 2011 when Katy both stole John Mayer and Taylor’s backup dancers. Taylor’s “Bad Blood” video is rumored to be about their alleged feud.
It’s not just the pop world that’s had enough of the country-turned-pop singer. Some of Swift’s fans are also sick of hearing about her. The singer is constantly in the news when it comes to her celebrity feuds, her 1989 World Tour, her infamous Tumblr likes, and her relationship with Calvin Harris. Swift also makes headlines every time she donates to charity or responds to one of her fans on social media.
Some people aren’t buying the singer’s good-girl image anymore. In fact, former fans are publicly calling out Swift over her greedy business decisions, the protection over her pristine image, and her so-called “girl squad.” Huffington Post contributor, Ernest Owners, explained why he’s “so over Taylor Swift.”
“Yes, I was one of those wide-ear fans that became a “Swiftie” during her Fearless era. Her cross-over songs didn’t bother me much, because I figured she would naturally transition to pop as she evolved. But something happened after Kanye West interrupted her MTV VMA moment that now concerns me.”
“She got spoiled, very quick. Not only did she shortly after become one of the youngest musicians to win the Grammy for Album of the Year for the aforementioned record, but her next album, Speak Now would sell a million units in the first week, followed by Red shortly after and just recently her latest album 1989 as well.”
The “award-winning multimedia” journalist believes that Swift’s team is working around to keep her relevant and in the news. For some fans, that can lead to a Taylor Swift overdose.
Some media outlets claim that the backlash is just the beginning. According to a previous report via Daily Beast, Taylor’s downfall will happen sometime in the near future. America is already turning its back on the singer. From there on, the whole world will turn on Taylor Swift.
“But like any hard-working teen queen, TSwift is due for her Regina George moment—a fall from grace akin to being pushed in front of a moving school bus (most likely by Katy Perry). “
Even Grizzly Bear singer Ed Droste has hinted about Taylor Swift’s downfall on Twitter. The indie singer hinted about his run-in with the “Mean” singer and claims that he’s downright scared of her. Droste even tweeted an article about Swift’s “Friendship Rules” with the caption, “Obsessed that people are catching on.”
Speaking of the musician’s tweet, it also appears that the media is turning on the singer. The Mirror previously wrote a report about Taylor Swift “cutting a glum expression” just weeks after one of her infamous pop feuds. The British tabloid featured photos of the singer pointing and looking sad as she talked to an unidentified man.

Swift’s backlash isn’t something that happened overnight. It’s something that slowly built up overtime. It’s happening because everything she does — whether it’s talking about feminism or showing off her famous friends — comes off as self-serving to the general public, including her own fans.
As previously reported via the Inquisitr, Zayn Malik found himself in a feud with DJ Calvin Harris when he slammed the singer for her greedy business tactics.
