Chloe Lukasiak Wins ‘Teen Choice Awards’ Honor: Former ‘Dance Moms’ Star Scores ‘Choice Dancer’ Nod
Former Dance Moms star Chloe Lukasiak scored a big win at Sunday night’s 2015 Teen Choice Awards. The competition in the category of “Choice Dancer” was fierce, but Lukasiak walked away with the surfboard and honor. What’s the scoop?
As Hollywood Life details, Chloe Lukasiak was up against fellow Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler for the big Teen Choice Awards honor. Others in the category included Les Twins, So You Think You Can Dance and Ellen star Stephen “tWitch” Boss along with Dancing With the Stars professionals Derek Hough and Alison Holker.
Chloe and her mom Christi left Dance Moms after Season 4 when Christi had a big blow-up with Abby Lee Miller. Though fans still miss the family on the show, the teen has been keeping plenty busy on her own. She remains quite close with Dance Moms star Nia Sioux Frazier, and she’s very close with former show co-star Paige Hyland as well.
In her acceptance speech, Lukasiak initially praised all of her former dance teachers, noting that she wouldn’t be the dancer she is today without them. Chloe thanked her fans as well and then shared some thoughts that had her fans cheering loudly.

Chloe said, “To anyone who’s ever been told out there that they can’t do it, they shouldn’t do it or they aren’t good enough, ignore it, do it anyways and prove them wrong.”
Clearly, Lukasiak’s passionate words are a nod toward her experience with Miller and the stress she went through on Dance Moms. Though Chloe isn’t on a weekly reality TV show any longer, she’s continued to dance and fans are thrilled with how well she’s been doing.
While Lukasiak has been dancing with the Studio 19 Dance Complex since she left Dance Moms, she’s got a lot of other projects in the works as well. Chloe chatted with J-14 and shared that she’s not only working on her YouTube channel now, she’s starting to get into acting. Chloe says that she’s probably taking a step back from competing in dance this coming year, as it seems she and Christi are focusing on new opportunities.
Chloe shares that the family now has an apartment in Los Angeles and she’s pretty jazzed by what lies ahead. Lukasiak is working with an acting coach and apparently just auditioned for a role in a film. While the family will continue to jet back and forth between the coasts, it seems she’s in a prime place to take advantage of all of the opportunities coming her way.
As fans know, Chloe is currently dating Ricky Garcia of Best Friends Whenever and the band Forever In Your Mind. In fact, Ricky was with Chloe at the Teen Choice Awards. Though Dance Moms fans still miss seeing her on the Lifetime show, it sounds like she’ll have plenty of opportunities coming her way in the months ahead.
