John Travolta Was Not in LA at the Time Alleged Sexual Harassment Occurred, Flight Records Show
In the past week, two claims have surfaced by separate massage therapists claiming actor John Travolta made extremely lewd advances toward them.
John Travolta has been the subject of gay rumors basically since he first became a star after Saturday Night Fever hit theaters, and the actor- a known Scientologist- has not as aggressively battled the whispers as much as fellow church member Tom Cruise.
But the claims made public this week seemed somewhat damning, at least at first glance- although the men who made them are seeking significant financial compensation for their alleged trauma and both are represented by the same lawyer. Possible financial motives aside, it appears that John Travolta may be able to clear his name unequivocally- a rare circumstance in cases of alleged sexual misconduct.
It’s not common that TMZ- usually the bane of a celebrity’s existence- comes to the rescue in situations where someone like Travolta is accused of sexual assault. But let it not be said the gossip site never did anything for anyone famous…
…for John Travolta, TMZ actually dug up the flight records pertaining to the dates on which at least one of the incidents is said to have occurred, and it looks like the star may have been in New York when he was supposedly fondling his dangle in front of a masseur in LA:
“We checked flight records which show Travolta’s jet took off from Los Angeles International Airport at 8:21 PM on January 15, 2012 and landed at 3:59 AM the next morning in Westchester County, NY… The masseur’s lawyer claims Travolta met the masseur in question at the Beverly Hills Hotel at 10 AM on January 16, but the flight records show differently.”
Further, the site ran comment from a costume director who worked with Travolta and confirms that the actor was in New York, not Los Angeles, at the time of the alleged assault. Hmmm…
