Sharon Stone Poses Nude For ‘Harper’s Bazaar’ At Age 57

Sharon Stone’s Harper’s Bazaar nude photo shoot has people talking.

Stone, who was nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar for her role in Martin Scorsese’s Casino in 1996, has never been shy when it came to showing off her body. In 1990, Stone posed nude for Playboy, and in Basic Instinct(1992) she famously uncrossed her legs to show that her character, Catherine Tramell wasn’t wearing any underwear, The Age reports.

Now, over 20 years later, it appears as if Stone is just as confident in her body as ever, although she admits her body isn’t without its flaws.

“I’m aware that my ass looks like a bag of flapjacks but I’m not trying to be the best-looking broad in the world,” she told the American fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar. “At a certain point you start asking yourself, ‘What really is sexy?’ It’s not just the elevation of your boobs. It’s being present and having fun and liking yourself enough to like the person that’s with you. If I believed that sexy was trying to be who I was when I did Basic Instinct, then we’d all be having a hard day today.”

In 2001, Sharon Stone suffered a brain haemorrhage that led to a type of stroke that kills the majority of its victims. For one of the first times, Stone opened up about her struggle after the aneurism and how she managed to rebuild her career.

“It took two years for my body just to absorb all the internal bleeding I had. It almost feels like my entire DNA changed. My brain isn’t sitting where it used to, my body type changed, and even my food allergies are different,” she said.

“I became more emotionally intelligent. I chose to work very hard to open up other parts of my mind. Now I’m stronger. And I can be abrasively direct,” she added. “That scares people, but I think that’s not my problem. It’s like, I have brain damage; you’ll just have to deal with it.”

Sharon has been dealing with several lasting symptoms from the brain haemorrhage, including numbness, impaired speech and blurred vision. It has not only affected her personal life, but her career as well. Stone spoke about her guest role on Law & Order: SVU in 2010 where she was “humiliated” after forgetting her lines.

“That was humiliating,” she said. “I’m like, ‘This is so bad. What did I do to deserve this?'”

Sharon will soon be starring in a new television show called Agent X, where she plays the vice-president of the United States. She will also serve as the executive producer of the show.
