University Of Alabama Alpha Phi Sorority Removes 2015 YouTube Video, But Copies Remain Online [Videos]
The University of Alabama Alpha Phi 2015 recruitment video went viral, but not for the reasons the Alpha Phi sorority likely wanted their recruitment video to go viral. As reported by the Inquisitr, the recruitment video that displayed mostly all white women smiling and donning bikinis gained criticism.
Even though the original video that went viral was removed from the Alpha Phi YouTube channel after sites like AI and the Daily Mail picked up on the Alpha Phi video, copies of the video originally titled “Alabama Alpha Phi 2015” can still be found on YouTube.

A search for “?Alabama Alpha Phi 2015” reveals YouTube videos with the same scenes of beautiful women, smiling and waving, and blowing glitter into the air – hoping to tempt hopefuls to join their fun sorority. Comparing it to the Pi Beta Phi University of Alabama Recruitment 2015 video on YouTube, there are a lot of similarities of smiling women – but with perhaps less bikinis. There’s bubble blowing and lots of laying on the grass and running around. There’s a selfie-stick, popsicles, water guns, and the like.
All in all, it appears these sorority videos seem to be light-hearted and a fun attempt to display the sisterhood that can occur during sorority, college-living times. Some folks on Twitter are defending the video, claiming it has made them want to return to college.
“Alabama Alpha Phi recruiting video has critics. Who cares! My response: I want to go back to college! Roll Tide!”
Even the Alabama Alpha Phi Facebook page is showing that their content isn’t available right now. It means the Facebook page may have been turned to a private status in order to protect it from public criticism.
“Sorry, this content isn’t available right now. The link you followed may have expired, or the page may only be visible to an audience you’re not in.”

Comparing the University of Alabama video to one titled “Alpha Phi 2015 The University of Arizona,” at least the latter one shows diversity from the onset, as brief as it might be.
That fun video displays the sisters of Alpha Phi at the University of Arizona doing girly stuff, all set to “Heroes” by Alesso. It doesn’t court the same controversy that the University of Alabama’s Alpha Phi video has received.
Going forward, sorority recruitment videos will likely be updated to contain more substance, perhaps, and fewer bikini shots that make them buzzworthy.
