Rihanna Slams Matt Barnes On Instagram For Claiming That They’re Dating: ‘The Devil Is A Liar’
Rihanna may have made headlines earlier this week regarding an alleged romance with NBA player Matt Barnes, but it looks like Rih is fighting back against the rumors while publicly blasting Barnes on Instagram for further fueling the speculation.
Rumors of Barnes and Rihanna’s romance made headlines earlier this week after Barnes’ soon-to-be ex-wife, Gloria Govan, revealed that Matt and Rihanna have been on “two dates” over the past few months.
Govan dished to TMZ that while there’s nothing serious going on between Barnes and Rihanna at the moment, she is cool with her ex dating the songstress as long as Rihanna agrees to hook her up with some concert tickets for her future tour.
Similarly, Barnes revealed to paparazzi on Sunday that there is a “possibility” that his romance with Rihanna could heat up in the near future.
When asked if he and Rihanna are a couple, Barnes tells TMZ, “Uhh, Rihanna is my friend right now, so umm, we’ll see where it goes.”
Barnes then reveals that there’s a possibility of his romance with Rihanna heating up in the future, noting that they have evolved beyond the “crush stage” in their rumored romance.
Barnes even goes so far as to say that their romance won’t be impacted by the fact that he lives in Memphis, noting that Rihanna “is rich” and that they’ll “be alright.”
Within hours of Barnes’ brief interview with TMZ appearing online, Rihanna took to Instagram to blast her rumored beau by calling him out on the false dating claims.
Rihanna shared a screengrab of Barnes’ interview with TMZ before captioning the shot with, “#bishwhere #thedevilisaliar #shesnotthatintoyou #shesnotintoyouatall #shesneverevenmetyou #thisactuallyhurtmyfeelings #defamationofcharacter.”

Fans instantly gushed over Rihanna’s decision to defend herself against Matt’s claims, with one fan pointing out, “Lol this n**** look so lame now. How are you lying about someone you never even met?”
While Rihanna is no stranger to calling out false rumors, the songstress continues to remain mum regarding the news of her romance with Lewis Hamilton.
Sources close to Rihanna revealed to E! News that while there’s “no label” on Rih and Hamilton just yet, the duo are thoroughly enjoying their time together and continue to have fun in NYC following their vacation in Barbados.
“Rihanna and Lewis had a nice little getaway last weekend in Barbados, Rihanna also spent time with her friends and family but Lewis was the only romantic interest on her mind,” the source revealed of Rihanna’s budding relationship with Hamilton.
“They had lots of fun together around the island and also got some private romantic time. Karim is fading out and it looks like Rihanna has only one guy on her mind, and that’s Lewis. She is taking it very slow and just having fun, but she likes who he is and what he is about.”
