Caitlyn Jenner, Chaz Bono Visit Children’s Hospital To Visit With Children And Families Dealing With Gender Identity Issues

Caitlyn Jenner teamed up with another big name in the transgender community to meet with gender diverse children and their families at a Los Angeles Children’s Hospital. Who was that big name? Why, Chaz Bono, of course!

According to People magazine, Caitlyn Jenner and Chaz Bono recently met while getting together at Children’s Hospital Los Angele’s Center for Transyouth Health and Development. The two were set to talk to a support group, Transforming Family, which allows families to learn and discuss gender identity issues in order to “create a society in which ALL children are respected and celebrated.”

The meetup with Caitlyn and Chaz was reportedly filmed as a part of the E! docu-series, I Am Cait, but that doesn’t make the experience any less real for the children involved, or for Caitlyn herself.

“I’m just so excited to have the opportunity to talk with these kids and see how this program gives these kids time and a good environment in order to be able to mend their relationships with their families,” said Caitlyn.

According to the Mirror, Caitlyn wasn’t only excited to meet with the children and their families, but also with Chaz Bono, someone that she says she’s wanted to talk to for the “longest time.”

“You know he came out publicly before I did, so finally I’ve got the opportunity to spend some time with him, and I think it’s going to be great and I can learn a lot from him,” stated Jenner.

Chaz reportedly transitioned back in 2011 and revealed his transitioning in an Emmy-nominated documentary Becoming Chaz.

“Your transition, which obviously I was watching and everybody else was watching. I know it’s being [sic] a lot of hard work, you’ve done a very good job,” Caitlyn said to Chaz.

While the E! star was praising Bono for his work in the transgender community, Chaz turned to Caitlyn and praised her for coming out so publicly.

“It’s a difficult thing and it’s frustrating that people would think that somebody would do this for publicity, or for any other reason than because you have to do this.”

While Caitlyn’s series for E! seems to be getting relatively positive feedback from fans, there have been rumors that the network is getting ready to pull the plug on the show. According to a previous report by the Inquisitr, I Am Cait just isn’t pulling the numbers everyone thought it would.

“Executives and producers for the show feel that Caitlyn is being overexposed,” an insider reportedly said. “E! invested so much time and money into this project and everyone is just kind of baffled at how poorly it is doing.”
