Ashley Judd has abs to envy. At 47, Ashley had no fear in flaunting her trim tummy during her appearance at the 2015 Zumba Convention in Orlando, Florida. Judd let her abs prove that Zumba works by choosing a bra top combined with super-short shorts, reported Entertainment Tonight .
In addition to charming the crowd as keynote speaker, Ashley performed with her teacher Laura Boyd. Judd has credited Zumba not only for giving her awesome abs but for helping her brain.
“Well, y’all, I’ve mentioned I found Zumba, and that I love it,” shared Ashley on Facebook. “It began as just a little something good for the brain, with friends mentioning a class they really enjoyed…. It has transcended brain work and become an experience of effervescent JOY.”
Judd even optimizes her Zumba workouts by daring to do it differently.
“When I work out, I try to challenge myself in other ways,” revealed Ashley. “I’ll be in Zumba and the whole class is doing the combination to the right, but I’ll start doing it to the left just to challenge my brain. It improves neuroplasticity, which is the brain’s ability to generate connectivity. It’s regenerating.”
Beyond Zumba, Judd has some other fitness tips to share, she told Women’s Health . In addition to toning her abs with the dance fitness classes, Ashley believes in the benefits of yoga.
“When you’re really engaged in the world, really serving the world, you have to find ways to take care of yourself and to stay grounded. For me, I do a lot of yoga and meditation, hiking and journaling. I write every day about my experiences. That’s how I keep myself feeling safe and sane, given life’s atrocities. And the yoga, that comes into play in Missing too; all that Vinyasa flow yoga I’ve been doing really allows me to kick a** with style.”
As the Inquisitr reported, yoga and dance fitness also get credit for shaping Britney Spears’ fabulously flat abs .
“Dancing is a great cardio workout,” declared Britney. “Tough and fun at the same time.”
Prior to her Las Vegas show, Spears revealed how she prepared.
“I’m doing 90 minutes of yoga twice a week, in addition to a lot of cardio–hour long sessions three times a week, with my trainer, Tony Martinez. The [Vegas] performances won’t be easy–they’ll be a massive party from start to finish. And to pull this off, I have to be in top condition and running at full speed,” said Britney.
