D23 Expo 2015: Full Description Of ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Footage Shown Today
One of the most anticipated panels of the D23 Expo 2015 took place on Saturday afternoon, and it was the live-action movies presentation. One of the first things discussed was Doctor Strange, but in very little detail. Up next was Captain America: Civil War, where an official trailer wasn’t shown, but the first footage was.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige came out on stage in his normal black baseball cap and he was soon followed by Anthony Mackie aka The Falcon. Soon after, he was joined by none other than Captain America himself.

Evans got a huge standing ovation and the cast joked around a little bit. That was when they moved into the short footage from Civil War. It wasn’t a trailer, but it was still incredibly awesome.
Footage starts out with Falcon launching his Redwing drone to scan a nearby truck for potential threats. He then flies down the side of a building to intercept the threat. Captain America and Crossbones fight as Black Widow and Falcon take out thugs.
The next scene shows Black Widow and Captain America chasing down Crossbones in a fight or flight shot. Crossbones snarls as Black Widow says, “He remembered you – your pal, your buddy, your Bucky.”
“This is for dropping a building on my face,” says Crossbones.
Captain America says, “We try to save as many as we can, but sometimes that doesn’t mean everyone.” Bucky is shown and he recognizes Steve Rogers.
“Sometimes, I want to punch you in your perfect teeth,” Iron Man says to Cap.
One of the only real fight scenes is between Black Widow and Hawkeye who have a really funny exchange.
Black Widow: “We’re still friends, right?”
Hawkeye: “Depends on how hard you hit me.”
A number of others are seen charging at one another and getting ready to fight, but never actually battling with one another. It keeps cutting away before they land a punch or hit.
Black Panther is revealed in a very quick shot, but he is shown. Ant-Man then comes in and meets Captain America, but he hilariously fanboys and stammers a lot – “Captain America! It’s an honor. I’m shaking your hand too long. You’re really great. I know you know a lot of super people, so thinks for thanking of me…err…thanks for thinking of me.”
It ends with a serious exchange between Captain America and Iron Man.
Captain America: “I know we’re not perfect, but the safest hands are still ours.”
Iron Man: “If we have no limitations, then we’re no better than the bad guys.”
The first footage for Captain America: Civil War has been revealed by Marvel, and it is incredible. Rumor has it that the first trailer could drop on Saturday night, but that is nothing more than rumor at this time. Lots more to come from the D23 Expo so anything is possible.
