Angry Birds Franchise Tops One Billion Downloads
You probably don’t need anyone to tell you that the Angry Birds franchise is a monumental success–chances are, you know of at least one person who has played it at some point–but these numbers may still surprise you.
Just a few days after Rovio reported an 800 million download count for the Angry Birds franchise, the company announced that total downloads for the Angry Birds franchise, free and paid versions included, have topped an astounding one billion.
“Angry Birds games have now been downloaded more than a billion times,” the company wrote on its blog. “THANK YOU to all of our incredible fans! This is only the beginning of our story, keep your eyes peeled for what’s coming up next from Rovio!”
A good portion of those 1 billion downloads came from the original Angry Birds, but the recent launch of Angry Birds Space still contributed to getting the number all the way up to that ten digit mark. Last month, the developer revealed that Angry Birds Space managed to rake in an impressive 50 million downloads in its first 35 days of availability.
Are you still playing Angry Birds, be it Angry Birds Space or the original?
