‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Filming Delayed Again Due To Controversy Over Jamie Dornan Going Full Frontal?
Although many people were disappointed at the amount of sex scenes in Fifty Shades of Grey, it appears as though the sequel is set to ramp things up in the skin department. In fact, there have been numerous reports on how Jamie Dornan was offered an extra $1.5 million to appear in Fifty Shades Darker fully naked.
“They’re offering Jamie a bonus of $1.5 million to do a full-frontal scene in Fifty Shades Darker,” a source revealed to Hollywood Life. “That’s just a starting figure. Jamie would be crazy not to consider it.”
The source went on to state that Dornan’s appearance fully nude would be brief in nature.
“They have assured Jamie that it won’t be overt but more of a brief tease – and he’ll have some creative control over how it’s handled,” the insider stated.
Although the new film is currently in pre-production, another delay has caused producers to halt the entire process. With that in mind, Bitbag is reporting that production for the sequel has been postponed following the controversy over Dornan’s decision to go full frontal.
The delay comes after Dornan’s wife, Amelia Warner, was reportedly displeased by the number of sex scenes in the film and how much of her husband they were planning to show onscreen. The rumors also include the idea that Dornan’s wife suspects a relationship is brewing between Dornan and his co-star, Dakota Johnson (Anastasia Steele).
However, in an interview with the Belfast Telegraph, Dornan addressed the idea of a romance between him and Johnson. Although the two have undeniable chemistry in the movie, the actor stated that their relationship was strictly professional in nature, and that the only person he is in love with is his wife.
At the same time, The Stir is reporting that the delay in production of Fifty Shades Darker has nothing to do with Dornan’s wife being displeased with her husband’s full frontal scene. Instead, the source states that the delay is because producers have yet to find a suitable director for the project. As many will recall, the director of the first film, Sam Taylor-Johnson, decided to part ways with the franchise following some controversy of her own.
Meanwhile, whatever the reason for the most recent delay, production for the film is expected to begin before 2016 if the producers want to stay on track for a February 2017 premiere date for Fifty Shades Darker.
