Sharon Stone Harper’s Bazaar Nude Poses Shock: ‘Basic Instincts’ Star Rocks Low-Carb Diet & Yoga [Video]
Sharon Stone rocked her Harper’s Bazaar photo shoot by taking it all off! Stone believes that the Fountain Of Youth is real, as long as you understand how to define the meaning of sex appeal, reported MSN.
Sharon argues that beauty comes from within. Stone told Harper’s Bazaar that she has a new and improved attitude at 57 that has helped her achieve ageless beauty.
“At a certain point you start asking yourself, ‘What really is sexy?’ It’s not just the elevation of your boobs. It’s being present and having fun and liking yourself enough to like the person that’s with you. If I believed that sexy was trying to be who I was when I did ‘Basic Instinct,’ then we’d all be having a hard day today.”
And although she joked about her views on her appearance, Sharon got serious when it came to the topic of her health. Stone revealed to Harper’s Bazaar that she experienced an aneurysm about 14 years ago, followed by a cerebral hemorrhage.
Sharon didn’t know that she had suffered a stroke until she went to the ER and soon became unconscious once hospitalized.
“When I came to, the doctor was leaning over me. I said, ‘Am I dying?'” Stone remembered. “And he said, ‘You’re bleeding into your brain.’ I said, ‘I should call my mom,’ and he said, ‘You’re right. You could lose the ability to speak soon.'”
When she received a diagnosis of a ruptured vertebral artery, Sharon was shocked. But after her recovery, Stone explained to Harper’s Bazaar how her medical crisis changed her mind and body.
“It almost feels like my entire DNA changed. My brain isn’t sitting where it used to, my body type changed, and even my food allergies are different.”
Sharon feels that she’s become mentally wiser as a result.
“I chose to work very hard to open up other parts of my mind,” said Stone. “Now I’m stronger. And I can be abrasively direct. That scares people, but I think that’s not my problem. It’s like, I have brain damage; you’ll just have to deal with it.”
As for how she gets the body to pose nude for Harper’s Bazaar at 57, Sharon believes in staying fit and fabulous as you age by exercising faithfully, she told Shape.
Stone works out at a gym, combining stretches, yoga, and dance for variety.
“Every time I exercise, I do something different based on which areas need to get in motion,” said the Basic Instinct actress.
Stone’s diet emphasizes low-carb, high protein foods, with steak a particular favorite. Alcohol is off her menu, and Sharon credits Jane Fonda as her role model for maintaining her weight.
“I’m very happy about being a grown woman. I think there’s a lot of sexuality, and glamour, and allure, and mystery to being a woman that you just don’t have when you’re young,” said Stone.
As the Inquisitr reported, Jane Fonda also credits a low-carb diet and working out regularly for helping her maintain that sleek physique at 77.
“I am careful but not obsessive. Fresh fruits, vegetables, and fish, and I am physically active,” summed up Fonda of her secrets to staying fit and fab in her 70s.
