Watch Amy Schumer And Judd Apatow Crash Irish Wedding Party — Was It A ‘Trainwreck’?
Amy Schumer’s upward trend as one the premiere American comedians has her baking under harsher spotlights than ever before. That razor focus burned even brighter after her recent Judd Apatow-directed feature Trainwreck went from box-office smash to the backdrop for a cruel Louisiana shooting that left two dead.
Since then, Amy has been swirling around more gun control debates than sex jokes — which is why fans might be happy to see her let go at an Irish wedding while visiting the country to promote Trainwreck with Judd. That’s not to say that Schumer and Apatow necessarily burst into song uninvited. The pair were making their way through Irish nightlife with the frontman of popular Irish rock band The Frames — Glen Hansard. The Daily Edge reported that the local bartender had no idea who Amy and Judd were at all.
“I heard your man on Today FM alright, but I didn’t know who she was. Someone asked me to take a picture of them with her and I asked her ‘Are you gonna smile or what?'”

Even before they landed themselves at this Irish wedding, Apatow had expressed his admiration of Schumer to U.K. paper The Independent. In an interview with Trainwreck male lead Bill Hader, Judd praised Amy not just for her comedic chops but for the impact that she’s been able to make on deeper issues through her comedy.
“She’s really, really funny and frank and she takes giant risks; she has a lot to say… I don’t think we’ve had many women like her. We’ve had people like Lily Tomlin and Whoopi Goldberg, but few people have had the same societal impact with their sketches and ideas as Schumer.”
Fans of the show that launched Amy to fame might be reminded of an early skit where Schumer swapped genders on the popular Hooters franchise with the creation of O’Nutters — a resto-bar set up to objectify men in the same way Hooters does women. You can watch that other time she ended up in an Irish bar below.
Amy Schumer and Judd Apatow will be hanging around Europe for a few more weeks on their Trainwreck press tour, though none can say if they’ll be hitting up any more weddings.
