‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Action Figure Photos Leak, Potentially Revealing Major Spoiler

Several images of the first wave of action figures for Star Wars: The Force Awakens have leaked online, and they are revealing some potentially massive spoilers regarding the upcoming film.

The toys, produced by Hasbro, weren’t supposed to be revealed to the public before “Force Friday,” according to ComicBookMovie, but images made their way online this week anyway. Coming right on the heels of a leaked photo of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker on set, as the Inquisitr previously reported, the images reveal the 3.75-inch scale figures set to be released in conjunction with The Force Awakens, and there are most definitely a few surprises among the bunch.

As Flickering Myth points out, some of the action figures are predictable, including Finn, Captain Phasma, and a Flame Trooper. Each of the figures is held in a blister pack under the image of Kylo Ren, the newest Star Wars antagonist, and a figure of the crossguard lightsaber-wielding villain is included in the group. Also included, however, are several figures that seem out of place, potentially proving that the rumored flashback scene thought to be a part of The Force Awakens may actually be appearing in the film.

Alongside the film’s lead characters, observers can clearly see that one figure depicts a young Luke Skywalker, clad in what appears to be his Bespin gear from The Empire Strikes Back. As if that weren’t enough to confirm the possibility of a flashback, the images also reveal a figure of the most iconic villain in the Star Wars universe, fallen Jedi Darth Vader himself.

Vader has long been rumored to appear in the film, either in a flashback or some other capacity. Last year, WWE star Sheamus sparked fan speculation when he traveled to Skellig Michael Island, where some of the filming for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was being conducted. Some fans have speculated that the wrestler, who appeared as Darth Vader for a promotional tour in conjunction with Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, would be reprising the role in the upcoming film.

While the rumors surrounding Sheamus remain unconfirmed, it appears that the leaked photos of Hasbro’s toy line may have proven the existence of at least one flashback in the upcoming movie. Lucasfilm does have a history of producing misleading toys, however (for Revenge of the Jedi), and just because a character gets an action figure doesn’t mean they appear in the film. Fans will no doubt continue to speculate and debate until Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18.
